3M 44 Composite Film Tape is manufactured from a combination of polyester film and polyester web film (to form a backing with a total thickness of 0.139mm). This composite tape is then coated with a rubber pressure sensitive thermosetting adhesive on one side. 3M 44 Composite Film Tape is a UL recognised tape that is highly conformable with good physical toughness and resistance to puncture. It offers excellent electrical insulation performance and good adhesion to steel and other materials. Used in electrical applications rated up to 130ºC, 3M 44 Composite Film Tape is often tasked with protecting start wires, leads, terminal strips, end turns, connections and insulation paper in motors and transformers. To ensure maximum adhesive strength and resistance to solvents is achieved, 3M 44 Composite Tape should be thermoset. For information on thermosetting cycles, please consult the TDS for this product. Available Sizes Standard rolls of 3M 44 Composite Film Tape are 82.3mtrs (90 Yards) long and are supplied on 3″ paper cores.
