3Mâ„¢ 40 Printed and Unprinted Antistatic Utility Tape are high quality tapes which generate less than 50 volts on unwind and removal from stainless steel to help prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to sensitive electronic components. This tape is produced from a transparent polyester film layer with an acrylic adhesive. Made using proprietary 3Mâ„¢ methodologies, this tape generates extremely low levels of triboelectric charge when it is unwound from the roll or removed from most surfaces. 3M 40PR Anti-static utility tape can be used as static-safeguard workstations as part of a total static control program. Potential applications include clean room environments, closing static shielding bags, conformal coating and masking. This tape is available in both printed and unprinted varieties. The printed style features the 3Mâ„¢ logo and the ESD Protective Symbol on the adhesive side to remind workers that 40 tape should be used in static-safeguarded areas.
