3M 22 Electrical Tape is a heavy duty vinyl electrical tape manufactured from a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) backing and coated on one side with a pressure sensitive rubber based adhesive. This tape has a total thickness of 0.25mm and offers very high mechanical strength as well as excellent abrasion resistance. 3M Scotch 22 Electrical Tape is designed to perform in applications where temperatures range from -10ºC through to 80ºC. It has excellent resistance to moisture, alkalis, acids, corrosion and varying weather conditions and will, with its combination of elastic backing and aggressive adhesive power, provide moisture tight mechanical and electrical protection with minimal bulk. 3M 22 Tape is UL listed and compatible with solid dielectric cable insulations. It is used as primary electrical insulation for wire and cable splices rated up to 600 volts and as a protective jacketing for higher voltage cable splices and repairs. Its excellent mechanical strength also allows it to be used for the harnessing of wires and cables. Black in colour, 3M 22 Electrical Tape is available from AG in a wide range of widths.
