Isonom NKN 0886 is a flexible composite insulation material that displays high tensile strength and high tear resistance whilst also maintaining high electrical strength. Consisting of a layer of Kaptonâ„¢ polyimide film which is coated on both sides with calendared Nomexâ„¢ insulation paper, Isonom NKN 0886 is mainly used as slot liner, slot closure and phase insulation in high thermally-stressed electric motors. Compared to other grades of Isonom NKN stocked by AG, 0886 has a higher proportion of polyimide film (Kaptonâ„¢) in its construction which allows for greater dielectric strength and insulation efficiency with less bulk. This grade has a smooth surface that allows for trouble free manufacture of low voltage machines where coil inserting machines are used. With a thermal classification of class H (for applications up to 180°C) Isonom NKN 0886 is also used as interlayer insulation in transformers and other electrical machines and appliances. Available Sizes Isonom NKN 0886 is available from AG in 0.20mm & 0.22mm thicknesses. The material is stocked in roll form measuring 900mm wide x 50mtrs long but is usually supplied either by the metre, converted to slit tapes, or in custom component form.
