Black Seal is a special silicone adhesive and sealant that combines excellent oil and grease resistance with high temperature performance. This grade of silicones is black in colour and adheres well to a variety of materials including steel, aluminium, glass ceramic and more. The 200ml press packs can be dispensed without additional equipment which makes them ideal for field applications and fast repairs while the 310ml cartridges can be dispensed using a standard silicone dispensing gun. Surface Preparation Before applying Black Seal, it is important to ensure that the surfaces are clean and grease free. Many surface contaminants (e.g. dirt or dust) can be cleaned with Weicon Surface Cleaner. For heavily soiled surfaces, Weicon Cleaner Spray S may be more suitable. Old paint or adhesive residue may be removed using Weicon Sealant and Adhesive Remover. If bonding to smooth surfaces it may be advisable to slightly roughen these materials as this will significantly improve the adhesive power achieved.
