RTV 5220 Series Silicones are one-part, ready to use neutral cure silicones that will maintain a strong bond even when exposed to extreme movement. This low modulus / high elongation characteristic allows RTV 5220 Series Silicones to be used in dynamic environments which nevertheless still require an effective seal. Because they are true neutral (alkoxy) cure silicones, RTV 5220 can be used with most corrosion sensitive electrical and electronic equipment with no adverse effect. This UL listed grade also offers primer-less adhesion to most metals, painted surfaces and plastics (including polycarbonate and acrylic, PVC and polystyrene). They also offer excellent tear resistance, will withstand exposure ozone, moisture, weathering and a wide range of chemicals. Used in applications with temperatures between -60ºC and 205ºC, RTV 5220 Series Silicones are commonly used for the sealing of refrigeration and A/C systems, and for the bonding and repair of marine, automotive or hand tool components. They are also widely used for plastic bonding and assembly applications and the creation of formed in place gaskets on plastic flanges.
