Elmotherm 009-0008 Air-Dry Varnish is a high quality, air-drying, alkyd resin based, solvented varnish that offers excellent electrical properties, good anti-tracking qualities and an incorporated user friendly fungicide. Available in a range of colours and forms, this well-credentialed product is manufactured by Elantas® in Europe and combines high quality with excellent value. Elmotherm 009-0008 Air Dry is often used as an impregnant for small transformers and coils where a rapid air-drying film is required (it is not recommended for the impregnation of deep sections). It is also used as an insulating coating for boards and mouldings which require an anti-track finish and can also be used for the conformal coating or printed circuit boards. A UL listed product, Elmotherm is compatible with most insulation systems and has good chemical and water resistance. Once applied, it will give a bright surface finish whilst simultaneously protecting against leakage currents and protecting metal surfaces from oxidation. Utilised in 180ºC (Class H) rated electrical systems, Elmotherm 009-0008 has good tan stability and a listed shelf life of 24 months which reduces wastage. Often employed as an alternative to the previously popular Isonel 300 range, Elmotherm 009-0008 air dry varnish is available from AG in, extra-large, 400ml aerosols as well as 5KG and 20KG liquid filled tins. The aerosols have colour coded lids for easy identification and, compared to some other versions on the market, are not only larger but also contain less thinners for a more consistent coating.
