Weicon Easy-Mix N 50 Epoxy Adhesive is a high quality adhesive designed with an extended cure time. Because of this, this adhesive is ideal for applications where parts may need to be repositioned after the adhesive is applied such as in manufacturing lines or even precision repair work. A two-part adhesive, Easy-Mix N 50 Epoxy Adhesive is easy to use since it is supplied in a double syringe pack. This packaging combined with the special Quadro mixing nozzles ensures that the two adhesive parts are properly mixed by the time they reach the application surface. As a result, mixing is not required which speeds up application and eliminates the potential for errors. Weicon Easy-Mix N 50 Epoxy Adhesive is based on unfilled epoxy resin and can be used to cover gaps up to 2mm (maximum). N 50 is quite viscid and is also self-levelling. In 20ºC conditions it will reach handling strength (about 35% of final) in approximately 120 minutes, be at 50% final strength in about 24 hours and fully cured in around 3 days. Easy-Mix N 50 Epoxy Adhesive is yellow-opaque in colour and, once cured, exhibits excellent adhesion to a variety of materials and surfaces (more info below). Fully cured Easy-Mix N 50 will withstand temperatures between -50ºC and 80ºC and exhibit excellent adhesion (17 N/mm² to sand blasted steel, 11 N/mm² to roughened rigid PVC). Within the framework of the above types recommendations, bonding of dissimilar materials pairs (such as metals and hard plastics) is possible. Available Sizes Weicon Easy-Mix N 50 Epoxy Adhesive is available from your local Associated Gaskets in 50ml cartridges. Extra Quadro Mixing Nozzles and dispensing equipment can also be provided. Guidelines for Use Before application of the adhesive, it is important to ensure that the surfaces to be bonded are clean and dry (clean and degrease using Weicon Cleaner S or Weicon Plastic Cleaner). Smooth surfaces should be slightly roughened if possible. Apply Weicon Easy-Mix N 50 Epoxy Adhesive to just one of the surfaces to be bonded. This grade will bridges a minimum gap of 0.2mm and a maximum of 2mm. The pot life given is for a 10ml quantity at room temperature. If larger quantities are used the curing time will be accelerated due to the exothermic reaction that occurs with epoxy resins. Similarly, higher ambient temperatures will accelerate the cure time (a rule of thumb for this is every 10ºC increase will halve working and cure time).
